We hired Morse Renovations and Custom Homes for three (3), separate and full home renovation projects, at 3 different times; in the Heights, and were very pleased with the results. With Trey on the job site and Tanya running the back office, we felt project management was in good hands, billings were well monitored, and communication was excellent. When our family was ready to start a major kitchen remodel in our 1920s Heights bungalow, we knew the project would be large and hoped to find a contractor that we could at least tolerate for the 4-6 months expected under construction. Our admittedly guarded expectations were absolutely blown away when we decided to work with Trey and Tanya Morse with Morse Renovations and Custom Homes.

Before embarking on our project, we met with several contractors to discuss project scope and budget. When we met Trey, we knew right away that we shared the same basic vision for what the kitchen should be. Trey quickly identified the problem areas in our kitchen and recommended structural changes that would give us the type of space we hoped for rather than suggesting we simply work around the existing floor plan. His suggestions were spot-on!

Something else was happening in those initial meetings – we were getting a feel for the type of people Trey and Tanya were and how easy they might be to work with. They were honest, funny, warm, and accommodating. We felt from the very beginning that they were a team we could trust.

Throughout the entire project – from design meetings to budget talks to construction – Trey and his team in our home and Tanya in her support role were exactly who we thought they would be. They were timely and honest. When they said something would happen, it did, simple as that. When we had questions or concerns, they were there immediately to help and keep the project on track. When we asked to upgrade hardware after the initial pieces were already installed, they made it happen quickly and easily. And the budget was exactly where we agreed it would be. There were no surprises, no unknown extra costs, no unexpected expenses. Any costs over the budget were identified early, agreed on, and settled. Oh, and they did it fast! The entire kitchen was completely gutted, rebuilt, and perfect within about 7 weeks!

I would recommend Trey and Tanya Morse wholeheartedly to anyone looking for help with their construction project. In fact, they are working on a friend’s kitchen right now. Perhaps the strongest recommendation is this: I’ve got a list of lots more projects I can’t wait to get started with them! They are my team!

We fell in love with our house from the moment we saw it. It was (and still is) very unusual to see a responsible builder who built 3 houses in a space that other builders may have put 5. This meant that we had a lovely big house with a good amount of outdoor space. It was a pleasure to work with Tanya and Trey throughout the buying process and it really was very straightforward and hassle free. They continued to help and assist us with some minor questions we had many months after the purchase and we always felt we could approach them with these. Our house is beautifully built and is in keeping with the style and charm of the Historic Heights neighborhood. We first contacted Morse Renovations in 2011 for a small job – replacing the master bathroom vanity and sinks and adding two drawers under the vanity. We came upon them as a recommendation from a friend in the Heights and we were specifically looking for someone connected to the Heights. Trey came to the house and was clearly knowledgeable and he listened to what we were wanting. Once they started the work, they completed the job quickly and the craftsmanship was great!

This spring, we called Morse again about a bigger job – replacing a bunch of rotten columns on our porch, as well as rotten wood trim elsewhere and a few other odds and ends. Again Trey’s knowledge and our confidence in him paid off as he noticed some things that would have potentially given us headaches in the future. The workers again finished things in a few days and again the quality is great. Now we are lining Morse up to help us with some indoor painting this summer and I’m sure we’ll be calling on them again in the future.
